Valencia winger David Silva insists he is thinking only about Spain’s Confederations Cup bid, despite speculation that he could be a target for a Manchester United side on the lookout for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 23-year-old, who has also been linked with Real Madrid, is in South Africa for his team’s tilt at the Confederations Cup and came off the substitutes’ bench in Spain’s 5-0 drubbing of New Zealand.
The competition is Silva’s sole focus, with the winger happy to let his future be debated by the rumour-mongers rather than let himself become embroiled in the speculation.
“The Spanish national team is for me the most important thing,” said Silva.
“I want to speak about the present, about the future we will see. I’m only thinking about the national team.”
