Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has revealed he spoke to Cristiano Ronaldo about a move to the San Siro.
The Serie A club are bracing themselves to lose Brazilian superstar Kaka to Real Madrid and are likely to have cash to burn if the deal goes through.
Ronaldo’s future remains up for debate following last summer’s will-he-won’t-he transfer wrangle with Real, despite recent assurances that he remains committed to Manchester United.
And Berlusconi made his admiration for the Portuguese winger known at this season’s Champions League final in Rome, where the Italy Prime Minister was presenting the trophies.
"Cristiano Ronaldo? I whispered in his ear and told him that I would like to see him play in Rossoneri colours, and he smiled at me," Berlusconi told Studio Sport.
"Who wouldn't want to come to a club like Milan?"
