Carrick Out Of Qualifiers

Reds midfielder Michael Carrick will not play in England's World Cup qualifier double header this month as he is suffering with a foot injury.

Fabio Capello's men travel to Kazakhstan on 6 June before returning to Wembley to take on Andorra four days later.

However Carrick, one of four Reds initially named in the Three Lions' squad alongside Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney, won't play any part.

He reported to the England team hotel with the rest of the squad but was sent home shortly after when medical staff decided he would not be fit to play.

Carrick's place in the team has been filled by Aston Villa winger James Milner.

Meanwhile, United striker Danny Welbeck has pulled out of England's U21 squad for the European Championships with a knee injury.
